Diverse in composition, stones do not yield the same form, even when honed by the ceaseless seas or flowing rivers. The paint's absorption too, remains a mystery until brush meets surface, the result unknown until creation begins. In reverence to the genius-loki, the stone's intrinsic spirit, I render my art as if in intimate conversation with it.
